The Louisiana Book Festival featured a panel of nationally-acclaimed authors who discussed the selection of To Kill a Mockingbird as America’s best –loved novel in The Great American Read.

We’ll take a look at the life and political legacy of Louisiana political icon Jimmy Fitzmorris.

David M. Schwarz has a busy office in Washington, D.C. that designs sports facilities, concert halls and shopping centers around the country. But his most significant work was revitalizing the downtown of Ft. Worth, Texas. With the largesse of Ft. Worth native and philanthropist Ed Bass, Schwarz designed and built dozens of new buildings over decades, including a stunning European style concert hall and a public square, bringing walkable urbanism to car-crazy Texas.

We visit Raleigh, North Carolina, where political cartoonist Dwane Powell looks back on a lifetime of covering the news, and then visit Dayton, Ohio, where a formerly vacant house is now a vibrant contemporary arts center.
